DISCLOSURES

How this site makes money — all of it, in one place.

Our editorial policy explains the wall between scoring and selling. This page is the money side of that wall: every revenue channel the site uses or is setting up, how each is disclosed where you encounter it, and what none of them can buy.

Affiliate links

Some links to retailers are affiliate links: if you click through and buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra. Right now that means:

Every affiliate link is disclosed inline — a "we earn a commission" note next to the link itself, never buried in small print — and marked up with rel="sponsored" so search engines see the relationship too. The commission rate never varies by product score, and no partner is shown to you because they pay us: products appear where the score formula puts them.

Sponsored placements

Retailers can sponsor visibility slots — a recommended-retailer block on a category page, a "where to buy" chip, or a rotating card on a vertical home page. Every one carries the inline label "SPONSORED — DOESN'T INFLUENCE SCORE". The editorial policy covers what sponsorship cannot buy: not a higher score, not a higher rank, not removal of competitors, and nothing at all for brands scoring below band C.

What we don't have

Who this satisfies

These disclosures are written to meet the UK CAP Code and ASA guidance on identifying marketing communications, and the US FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255): clear, prominent, unambiguous, and adjacent to the content they qualify. If you spot an affiliate or sponsored link anywhere on the site without its inline disclosure, that's a bug — email alexdenne@gmail.com and we'll fix it and note the correction.
